few questions. do u measure the height from the top of the out pipe to the top of the back box?
do u just use a tape measure???

Hiya mate do not worry about the height as they make it with loads extra , just measure the lenght (centre to centre) this is the most important measurment. Take a look at the pics I posted to get an idea of where from.

Chris thanks for doing this top man

right ive measured and im pretty sure my measurements are the same as the 3.0si (2 pipes in) which means the 3.0i will be the same aswell i take it

It does sound quite raspy.... booked in Monday to have my pipes fitted ;) any performance difference? Back pressure past the cat is probably not changed much so I'd imagine it should feel the same?

Gutted.

Been waiting for these to arrive as I've got my install all lined up and I've just had a phonecall off my neighbour.

He was concerned that a package he had just signed for had been delivered which was open both ends with just ONE pipe in it!!

Paza, can you tell me who the courier is and if it was Warren Eng. that packaged them up please?
Seems I'm going to have to try and sort out a real pita situation now.

Or maybe it's fate telling me not to fit them and to get out of my baby //M and buy an NSX or a V8Vantage!!

Top marks to Warren Engineering.

Spoke to them yesterday and explained what happened.
They said they'd send me a replacement pipe, so I sent them pics of the opened package so they could take it up with the couriers. Great service from Warren Eng.

Just need to wait a little longer to see if this helps my craving for a more aural experience in my Z.

Took mine to a place recommended for custom jobs in the Midlands over the weekend, and he had a quick look at the boxes & pipes and 'estimated' a couple of hours a side or a couple of hundred ££.

I said thanks, but no thanks

Currently trying to find one in the Merseyside area that will:
1) do the job
2) do it for less than £100
3) do it before I go off to the 'Ring on 11 May

Not having much luck with 1 & 3 so far.

Crikey mmm-five, I'm banking on a guy local to me who has done a few V8 engine swaps and runs a 'bagged split screen will be doing mine. He'll be used to weird jobs!

I've got access to MIG/TIG gear, so I may end up doing it myself. Just wanted someone else to take the responsibility of making any mistakes.

Honestly guys I watched them at Kustom 101 do it...

Remove the boxes took 20 mins

Drill the holes (4) another 20 mins as its doubled skinned cut down etc

weld to the backboxes another 15 mins

Refit boxes 15 mins... bolts lose now :)

Cost 1 hours labour.... cheeky gits 100+ quid :o

Mark got his done for an hours labour too

P.s new vids from Billy

I suppose it comes down to whether they can be bothered for such a small amount of work?

If I hadn't have already ordered/received the pipes I would have taken advantage of M@r]{'s offer to swap out for his ready-modified units.

Had mine fitted last Saturday, not too impressed with the company that did it as they took ages and complained that the bolts that connect the exhaust were seized so they had to drill out and replaced them. Car was with them for 3 1/2 hours but they actually worked on it for about 2 hours I would estimate, in the end they charged me £150.

Worst news is my emissions light came on afterwards so now I have got it booked in tomorrow with local stealer to get a reading and find out why the light is on. I assume either O2 sensor or cat is damaged :o

Will update tomorrow with what they say

All in not a great experience so far

Had mine done today at my friends garage, he said it was very straight forward the main problem was removal of the exhaust nuts and bolts, he feared they could snap so ran a thread runner I think he called it and all was fine!!

Very pleased with the resulting sound, thanks again Paza!!!

Finally had my bypass pipes fitted this week whilst the car was in for it's Insp.1.
The bolts on the exhaust we're seized so took a little longer than anticipated and the pipes were also tack welded to the top of the box to avoid any possible movement.

The sound is superb. No drone on the motorway at any speed, nice and sensible whilst on light throttle and suitably raucous when "pressing on". More than one petrolhead has commented that strangely it sounds a little Ferrariesque..! Excellent little mod and at a great price.

Thanks again for organising this GB Paza..!

Well finally got my car back from the local dealer, it turned out both O2 sensors had failed!

I can't prove anything but it seems a mighty big coincidence that both sensors are knackerd directly following the work done by the exhaust fitter :x

It took a week to get them replaced as BMW were out of stock. But at least I have my car back now. Haven't had too much time to drive it but the does seem to be a bit of a difference at high revs but if I am honest I was hoping for a bit more sound. The good news is at least the sound isn't too much on the motorway, I'll have to reserve judgment once I have had time to properly drive it and compare.

It is a subtle noise. What I like about it is if you drove hard past a load of people they'd look up and think that sounds nice, but they wouldn't think you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted.

If you want it louder you could always have 1 inch pipes done instead?
