New gear knob - which is the best?

I've recently completed my first mod by changing to the infamous 'stubby'. After doing some reading on here, it seems like changing the gear knob is a good mod for smoother gear changes without going for the CDV.

I was wondering what people recommended and why?

I'm currently looking at the ZHP and Stormwerkz and can't decide between the two as to which would be better. I'd appreciate any feedback or if anyone has a different brand to recommend?

I've had both and personally I prefer the weight and feel of the stormwoerks one.

Hah. Both are nice, but I'd say the ZHP is the more popular option on here. You can get an illuminated ZHP too, which looks pretty good.

Even if you do change the gearknob, the CDV removal is well worth doing, very cheap and completely reversible.

+1 Exactly the same and had both, I much prefer the stormwerkz one which is more weighted however. Some say they find the Stormwerkz knob rather cold in winter, however can't say it has bothered me. Also CDV delete really does transform the gear changing

What sort of weight difference is there between the two? I must admit, I don't think the coldness of the metal Stormwerkz one would bother me.

How much is the CDV delete if done by a mechanic? I wouldn't know where to start to do it myself.

CDV can be removed for the price of a drink if you find the right garage. It's a few minutes to do so shouldn't be expensive.

This chap is selling this Storm Motorwerks one, cheaper than new and same price as a ZHP would cost if that's the way you want to go.

I opted for the ZHP and love it. Only reason I didn't go the Storm route was the coldness in winter as we have a DS3 with a metal know that is extremely cold to the touch during the cold winter months.

According to the Stormwerkz website, their gear knobs weigh in at just over 500g, and according to Turner Motorsports website the weighted ZHP knobs weigh in at 154g

Wowzer!! Big difference in weight then! I imagine that the extra weight of the Stormwerkz one will help significantly then!

Quick update, went with the consensus and bought a Stormwerkz one off a fellow forum member.
