Cheap electric mat type laid under the tiles on a basic timer , thermostat . I always put it down these days , the luxury of kneeling or lying on a warm floor to work on your car should not be underestimated .
A car size section shouldn't be any more than a couple of hundred quid fixed considering you'll have a sparky and a tiler there anyway :thumbsup:

The more I think about this, the more I like it!!!!
I have to pay for floor tiles, so why not ceramic tiles
 
For ceramic, I got quoted for laying them at £100 a meter ... my floor space is bigger than what you plan, but for car carrying ceramic you are looking at £100 as well so £200 a meter times about 30 = £6k for your space unless you have a cheap rate tiler (I felt I would be ripped off with those prices).

Try your local topps tiles , tile giant , ctd type tile wholesaler , they will advise and supply everything you need , make sure the actual mat is fixed down with flexible floor levelling compound and you use flexible tile adhesive . You may well score a job lot of floor tiles as an end of line in a wholesaler .

A hundred quid a meter ! Give me a shout next time you want some work doing , I'll travel :lol: I hope that price was all in inc tiles and adhesive .
 
That is why I felt I was being ripped off. Had two quotes, both similar. As it was only for 4 tiles per meter, I thought it was excessive to say the least!

Only glue included, the tiles were extra ...
 
I tiled my garage floor in France with cheap tiles , 5euro a square meter , 40 euros worth of adhesive and just over half a day to do it myself including staggered joints and a detail cut front and back , 6.5 x 3 meters , the tiles aren't quite appropriate for a garage but the car and truck has been parked in there and even jacked up on them , thicker tiles are better though

OUCH!!!!
 
If it's a new build garage, you shouldn't get any permanent floor covering down until at least 6 months after the concrete was laid.
