Hello All,

I've just bought my first BMW. A 2004 Z4 2.5 SE in Sterling Grey. Here are some pics...

She needs a bit of TLC. First job is to take her for the Inspection 2 (62000 miles covered). The brake pad warning light came on the day after I got her but they look just fine to me so bit puzzled. The hood motor is broken, planning on buying one and fitting it myself. There is a dent on the rear quarter but I have good bodyshop contacts so prob a £200 job. Other than that she is in excellent condition and I'm over the moon since I paid £5500 (HPI clear and full history).

Other than the above I'm planning on fitting 19" BBS LM reps, it pains me looking at her with those tiny 16" wheels. My last car was a Cooper S and before that Alfa GTV TS so this is my first roadster.

Look forward to seeing you around as I get her in A1 condition again. By the by, I am planning on taking her to AMC in Wandsworth for the service, anyone got any other recommendations? They quote £300.

Cheers, Will

PS I'm a motorcycle nut, this my custom 400c single cylinder which I built recently.

Another Londonite! N,S,E,W?
Welcome billystar. Look forward to seeing those upgrades and work on your list take shape (those 16s look like cotton reels!). Whose the bodyshop? Worth sharing?
Loving thr bike by the way!

Hi and welcome to the forum, right colour
if you are going to change your wheels you may want to keep the old ones and fit some winter tyres to them very handy when the ice and snow fulls (light weight rear wheel drive car in the white stuff = going nowhere ) if not then post them up for sale on hear there's always plenty of people looking for winter wheels.
Have a look at CSL reps before you go with the BBS lm reps personally i prefer them but of course its down to personal choice.

A few of us will be meeting up on the 10th at a independent BMW garage ( Grosvenor )check out the post in the meets section. nickm will be coming from London to.
sorry carnt help you with AMC as i havnt used them but £300 looks a good price but check there are doing the full inspection 2 some times things like fuel filters get over looked.

Loving the bike

Thanks for the welcome guys.

@ Ed, love old BMW motorcycles, plenty of custom R80s here in London.

@ Dr Nick, thanks, what are the wheels on your car? They look fantastic.

@ Inkey, I'm in Wandsworth SW London. Just drop me a PM if you need a contact for bodywork. The guy I work with mostly does motorcycle work but can do car panels to a high standard. He is in Mitcham.

@ Jonny. Your car looks great, that's the kind of standard I'm aiming for. Are those 19" CSL reps? Whats the rim width? Where did you get your clear indicator lenses and how much?

Cheers

Cool. My old stomping ground! BTW, used AMC in Garrett Lane a few years back with my old Z3 and couldnt fault them.

+1 on CSL reps too. Had them on my old sterling roadster in matt anthracite (18") and they looked pretty cool. Bought from BM Autosport. Few of the guys on here have them.

Hi

My wheels are Bayern mesh now painted black as the polish rim had corroded quiet bad. I need to update my tag, here it is as its now

They are the standard issue BMW MV2 that were factory fitted - a nightmare to clean :headbang:

Welcome :)

Maybe think about the M sport suspension springs (standard on the 3.0) to as your ride height will look a bit high with bigger wheels.

Welcome. Nice looking car despite the issues. I too am on 16's and am looking to get 18's. I am in Hammersmith so will look out for you!

Other than AMC, I've heard good things about Gilberts for BMW in Acton.
