New fog lights

Ive just bought some new fog lights as bumper in for respray and it seemed the thing to do. Managed to get a pair of magnetti marelli items for 124.00 which is ok i think.

Does anyone have any suggestions of any possible mod i could do to them to stop them crusting up like the originals..

Hi changed mine when I bought the car 3+ years ago, fitted small sintered metal breathers into the bottom of the reflector portion of the fogs, they've been absolutely fine (Wouldn't just drill a hole and leave it open to atmosphere, water will always find it's way in - the sintered breather will only let air thru, unless it's submerged, by which point fog lights are going to be a long way down your list of worries )

To be fair Rob, keeping it dry and in a low humidity is probably the ultimate answer, but this aint California........

Interested in how you fitted them.... Is it tap and die, epoxy or silicone just tying to work out if its something I could do if/when I change my fogs out

Hi,

The breathers I used have a M5x0.8 male connection port, so basically drill and tap into the die cast alloy body on the underside towards the rear (Dont believe the position, other than underneath is significant)
