Ive been dying to give this car the sound it really deserves so i decided to order this exhaust

http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280036&page=5

i wanted somethink different and somethink that was dyno proven not to loose power (not to fussed about a gain as their nowt to write home about from just exhausts)

but the biggest thing for me was i wanted to shed some weight. so the stockers weight 22lbs per side and these are like 7lbs per side so a big difference!!
and even from america these are still a very good price undercutting most by 40%.
im very excited, will post pics shortly once it arrives, only paid this morning!!! Hopefully will be here within a week!!!

they look the dogs :D but not sure about the 112db :o.i might have missed the final db level before production but if they havn't reduced that they're going to be loud.i have the remus back boxes on my self, they look and sound great

yup this is going to be loud, what i liked about rpi is theyve developed this exaust, intially they dynod and posted a loss!!! but changed the design and got one that added slight hp but nothing major but defo no loss!! 112db is very loud!! cant wait!!! mines a strict weekend p an j got my DD for everythink else!!

the finished version look the nuts and more to the point the price and weight saving is excellent!! if our car need anythink is to losse alittle weight!! next for me is to carry on with the diet and shed the seats next!!

I was going to ask you on that thread but since you started one here.. Is it possible to post a before and after video of yours? The exhausts does look interesting but perhaps it might be too loud for me..

ga41 no problem ill post up a before and after. also ill be doing the install myself also so ill let you know about fitting ease, ive had a quick look under the car and this will be a breeze!!! Cant wait.

Excellent. Just to clarify on the noise issue for me, mine is a daily driver and my commute is in stop start traffic. An overly loud and bassy exhaust would probably drive me insane. :headbang:

ga41 was you thinking to order one also?? price is excellent plus i think you wont see to many ///ms with this exhaust on.

Yea i noticed the group buy thread and was keeping watch but if they're only making a limited run i'm probably too late anyway but if your videos convince me i could just pester them until they make me one....

Look stunning but having been deafened by my Caterham at 103db I'll give this system a miss.
Look forward to hearing your views once they're on.

I guess you're never planning on taking it on a track then, as most have a limit for 'loud' days of 106dB or 96dB on 'quiet days'.

A standard Z4M is 87dB, and each rise of 10dB is equal to TEN TIMES the sound pressure - so 112dB has about 500 times the pressure of a standard system (i.e. a 25dB increase is 10x10x5)!!! Although 500 times the pressure doesn't mean 500 times as loud, it'll probably sound about 5-10 times louder.

Also make sure you're careful where you give it any beans, as the newer anti anti-social behaviour laws mean a PCSO or PC can give you a ticket (S59 notice). Get a couple of these within 3 years and your car can be towed.

These are NOT appeal-able, so you have to be careful - although you can complain to the Cheif Constable/IPCC if you think the bobby has done something wrong.

The Rules said:
In order to satisfy the conditions of issue of a s59 notice, TWO separate conditions must be met.
Vehicles used in manner causing alarm, distress or annoyance
(1)
Where a constable in uniform has reasonable grounds for believing that a motor vehicle is being used on any occasion in a manner which—
(a)
contravenes section 3 or 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 (c. 52)(careless and inconsiderate driving and prohibition of off-road driving), and
(b)
is causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public,

And it's up to the bobby to decide if it's 'causing alarm, distress or annoyance'.

the main track i use is curborough which is a test at 5k revs and the limit is 103db!!!! so at least ill get on their!!
and i honestly dont give too hoots what the po po have to say!!! lol ill post pics shortly guys!!

110db is at 7900rpms and at 5k rpms is 96dbs so ill still get on track!!! cant WAIT!!!

If they measure you at 3/4 revs then that's 6,000rpm and RPI state it's 100dB at 6000rpm - and that's without any popping you get whilst you hold it there.

I can't wait to hear it though

Looks like good quality and value.

I'd have gutted my standard system first though, get a bit more flow and noise from it, and lose some weight :D

Dave

when doing my noise test at curborough they ask my to hold at 5k so ill be ok!!!! like i say the limit is 103db!!! it will quieten down once its coked up alittle as well!!

can someone do me a favour and get the pics from that thread in this one?? i have no clue how to do it!!
