New E89 purchase, but what colour???

White/black interior - and yes, we all think our cars are the best but the z4 does look good in most so its hard to go wrong... would advise against the yellow one in the window of the Bristol showroom however... I drove past yesterday... probably the only colour we all agree isn't the best!

Took these to show the contrast, not an automatic choice for some, but for me, it's unsual and I think works very well. I was about to go for the red leather, and then changed my mind - used you can find lots of Alpine and Red, this colour combo, you'd be lucky to find one - but everyone to their own. It looks beautiful when clean and polished..

Don't think I've seen white with white before, but have to say it does look really good. A nice "clean" look. :D

Well thanks for the input guys...

I looked at the demonstrator route at the weekend. A havanna/pure white interior 23i... Looked lovely, but I just couldn't live with the 2.5 having come from the previous model at a 3.0. So I'm looking at the 30i now. The budget is stretched for the 30i so no pure white package on this one, possibly back to either the white with red interior or the orion silver with beige interior.

Has anyone seen or know of pics with the orion silver and beige interior? I see plenty with the pure white pack, but I need to claw back the cost of that pack in order to stretch to the 30i.

If you're going for it, go with the White/Red - the silver looks ok, and with beige leather, looks good, but it's a very US look and not that common here and IMHO not that great to look at. So Alpine and Red all the way! Very sharp and contemporary - just make sure your girlfriend doesn't clash with the leather!

My choice was deep sea blue and beige, but it was pretty close against the grey and red leather, I have the satin dash and preferred it to the aluminium which wasn't aluminium but plastic anyway, it even sounded naf to the knock. As for options heated sports seats and the upgraded stereo are an absolute must, standard alloys I think are quite nice, like you I thought £1100 was a bit of a laugh for 18" alloys and the fact that £400+ for a set of rears instead of £250 (as I do 25000 miles a year) was another deciding factor.

Good luck, 3.0 is an absolute peach of an engine, noticeably quicker than the smaller unit (which I test drove)

I drive one like that :) The beige interior comes close to the white, but the dashboard is a little different, using the BMW configurator is really useful because is close to the reality. No picture of the interior yet. The orion silver really does justice to this car, so go for it. At first I also wanted the pure white design but I didn't like the alcantara trimmings on the seats, now I have the full leather beige option

Color choice can drive you mad. Try this - it has worked for me: figure out what your second-choice color would be. Then decide if there's a color you prefer to the one in second place. Order the preference. Relax.

Aargh lol ;)

Interior I prefer the red/satin/black... which ideally outside would then be white or black. Had black cars, they show swirls unless youre a polisher by trade! White, love the look, but I live in Manchester, I'd have to wash it daily!

Outside, Orion and Havanna are top choices, but without the pure white interior, only orion is an option and it really needs beige and beige can look a bit american (I'd need to see it in the flesh as the bmw website colours don't quite seem true).

Perhaps orion outside and red inside (urgh)... hahah

I've cracked it... get a 2nd job and get the havanna/pure white 30i with the upgrades I want... see how easy that was ;)

OK I think after much deliberation, and because hardly anyone seems to have one (I do like to be different) I'm going Orion Silver with Beige interior in the 30i, its as close as I can get to my beloved havana and white :). That plus HiFi upgrade, sports seats and iPod adaptor take me to my own imposed budget. Now just got to wait for my new baby :)

Congratulations! You will not be disappointed. Orion Silver is a great color that looks different in different lighting. I have it with the design white package, but it will look as good with the beige.

Controversially I may also stick with the satin dash... most seem to hate it, but I think it adds a contemporary/euro-retro mix look to a US beige feel. Every e89 I see has either the brushed metal (which exposes too much plastic black dash for my taste) or wood, and as I said I like to be different :) Risk and Discussion points are good, makes life interesting... I'm all excited... Jan delivery... I even want Xmas out of the way lol

Good for you! :D

As sars mentions above, the "aluminium" is plastic anyway and the standard satin trim running from side to side brightens up the whole interior.

I would up the budget slightly for heated seats, even if you don't use them yourself they are v.good for resale. i like the colour combination you have chosen.
