New E86 owner, NE England

Hello everyone.

I'd had my eye on a Z4 coupe for a while but had never actually seen one in the flesh.

A car came up fairly local to me & as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it! A deal was done & a week later I was driving it home. First impressions are positive & it drives really well despite having just over 100K on it. It's a 3.0Si. Silver Grey A08 with a Topaz blue & Active Sports interior, which I really like. Piano black inlays & no zenons. I've already changed the gear knob for a M Sport one, nice!

First job was to find some wheels as I wasn't keen on the split rim 5 spokes on the car. Luckily a set of 224 M wheels were for sale, again locally from a fellow enthusiast as it happens, so I bought them & I've had them powder coated & wrapped with new Goodyears. I've not to fitted them as I've decided to store the car for the Winter. It's very tempting but I can wait.

Couple of pics, not the best but you get the idea.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

108 split-rims look great but seem to need frequent, and expensive, refurbs. Got to love a Silver Grey Coupe with 224s, although I may be a bit biased.

I'd love to see a shot of your interior.

Thank you!

The 224's just look so much better imho.

Yes, I'll take a pic of the interior tomorrow.

What's active sports interior ? Thought all Si models had Zenons ? How do you if you have them ? Newby here lol :D

Active Sports is the name for the cloth fabric for the seat centers. Zenons were an option I believe. If you have them you won't have a headlight leveling dial next to the light switch as zenons are self levelling.

That explains the seats, but blue ones should look good with Silver Grey paint.

Bi-Xenons were a £415 option on facelifts, they were only standard on Ms.

But having had one with them and one without they are definitely better than the standard Halogen candles!

That's nice. Like the seats.
Very surprised that the radio, vents, ashtray etc seem to be grey (unless it's the light?)
Would have thought black would fit the trim better?

It is all black, just the harshness of the flash.

First time I have seen seats with cloth 👍

Just checked I have Zenons

Those seats are definitely unusual, but make a good contrast to the paint.

Take it out of storage and enjoy it, There are a few more weeks of playtime left yet.
