Hello everyone!

I picked up an si sport in silver grey, 2007, manual coupe a few days ago from Zed specialist, Zachary Luke in Northampton (great guy and good, honest service) so I thought I would introduce the car and myself.

I swapped from an E92 M3 with DCT box which I absolutely loved but was a bit of a money pit for a weekend car. I got the all clear from the steering committee to swap for a two seater, toyed with the idea of a Cayman or a TVR Chim/Griff but I can't imagine them being much cheaper to run than a v8 M3!
I settled on the z4 coupe because I have always loved the looks and feel it has aged really well compared to contemporary Caymans. The straight 6 engine was also a big draw. Not as bombastic as the S65 but turbine smooth and great low down urge. I only considered manual as well as both myself and my wife missed changing gear!

I can feel the love for these cars on the forum and it's obvious they get under your skin. I'm already planning some oem+ mods and ordered some Atomic CSL rep 19's from BM Autosport on PS4's, ZHP gearknob, SSDD gloss Black grills. Toying with a stubby aerial! Ill see how I get on with the whippy initially. Next job will be sorting Bluetooth and DAB. I also prefer the look of the orange indicator lenses from the pre-facelift cars so maybe doing that at some point.

Zedfest looked amazing today! Gutted I've only just found out about it. Next year! It'll be great meeting folk and getting ideas for other mods.

Here are some pics (hopefully!) but ill get some more once the alloys are fitted in the next week.

JK

Great looking Coupe there, and welcome to the forum.

But you are right, they do get under your skin - well certainly under mine!

Check out the Meets/Events section of the forum from time to time as there are some more local meets. There is one at the Ace Cafe next month if you are anywhere near London.

Still it sounds like you are well down the path of spending with wheels, tyres, a ZHP and black kidney grilles on order - you'll fit in perfectly on here!

Whippy/Stubby is a hot topic on here. I've had both but now have a Whibby/Stuppy just for a bit of variety.

You might want to add getting the Clutch Delay Valve removed to your list - it is a noticeable improvement.

If you like the idea of amber hockey sticks (indicators) you might end up looking for amber side repeater indicators and Amber US-spec bumper reflectors too.

This is the forum that keeps on giving - as in reasons to spend more.

The clutch delay valve is a new one to me! Thanks for adding to my list!

I'll keep an eye out for local meets. I'm in Huddersfield so London is too far unfortunately. Seems like a friendly bunch on here. Much more so than M3cutters!

Yes, I joined M3cutters when I got my MC but soon lost interest.

Here's a link on the topic of CDV delete that explains it much better than I ever could!

Hello and welcome from another E86 owner . In my limited experience whatever changes you are thinking about making just double them and you might be getting somewhere near

Thank you for the warm welcome guys! I'll try get some good pictures up in the next few weeks over Saddleworth. Some great roads and scenic views nearby :driving:

[ref]JK0202[/ref], very nice! However, I would say that as mine is almost identical  I recently changed my MV2s for Style 152 Individual wheels: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1857527#p1857527

I love those wheels! Haven't seen them before. Its a scary process picking new wheels. Maybe I've been a bit safe with the CSL choice  but I'm positive ill like them at least. Those and the 359m's do it for me.

Thanks - it took me ages to settle on what I wanted. I was after BMW wheels and OEM fitment but something a bit different. I hadn't seen Style 152 before either but I found pictures in the BMW Individual brochure for the Z4 and decided to go for it. My wheels also came from BM Autosport.

If you fancy a mini meet, drive and photo shoot over Sadlleworth then I’m just round the corner in Brighouse, and I’m always looking for an excuse to have a drive out😀

Family are away this week so I've just been for a little blast that way and scammonden! I'm just up in Fixby so literally 5 mins from you. We'll definitely have to sort a drive out 8)

Nice looking coupe - hat was the garage like to deal with as see quite a few zeds advertised with them

Zach was spot on to deal with. One man band at the minute but really knowledgeable and I trusted him. I had seen a couple of others before but wasn't getting good vibes from them. Sent me lots of vids and photos of the negative bits because I didn't fancy a 3 & 1/2 hr wasted journey. He had a nice 08 coupe in Carbon Black that he'd just got in which was lovely but I like the lighter colours to show of the lines better. Was forever washing the M3!

Welcome to Z ownership and the forum. Lots of help, advice and camaraderie here to make owning the car really enjoyable.Great looking car and manual to boot, you’ll have lots of fun.
