New e86 owner in Bristol

Evening everyone.

New e86 owner here. I’ve wanted one for ages and settled for this black with red leather number.
Recently had a baby and the Ducati I had sat in the garage was being wasted and wasn’t very practical.
I convinced the mrs that if I sold the bike and bought an e86 it would be at least twice as practical!

Plenty I want and need to do with it. I’m used to being busy having things to fix on my Ducati so the Z4 should be a breeze…
Firstly I want to do some preventative service work, refresh suspension, then sort some bodywork blemishes and change the wheels.

Been lurking for ages so thought it was about time to say hello!

Mark

Welcome to the forum and to E86 ownership Mark.

Your Ducati looks a bit of a beast, but your Coupe looks pretty mean too with those black wheels!

Looks great, plan to similar mods to what you seem to have done. I’m already finding the black a pain to keep clean so I’m very jealous of the colour of yours!
I bought mine from a bloke in Langport, not far from you

Ha cheers, it was certainly a handful and definitely not my last. Completely different experience in the Z4 but love it just as much in different ways. The Ducati would do power wheelies in 3rd and isn’t very good for self preservation or my driving licence :D

I saw that one for sale, it came on the market just after i bought mine, i’ve had mine since feb, loving it so far

Years ago I had a Ducati, only an ST4 for touring. Always wanted a Ducati and enjoyed it a lot

There is a BMW western region club that meets in weston 1st weds of the month i think

That's why I always stuck to old bikes - I just couldn't trust myself!

After that Ducati pretty much any car is going to feel a bit sedate, but in car terms E86s aren't exactly sluggish.

My first E86 was Ruby Black, followed by Montego Blue which didn't need nearly as much TLC to look good - but I'm finding Silver Grey even more forgiving. :)

Cars are made for driving, not cleaning. :driving:

Welcome to the forum! I see you stuck with the colour theme of black and red, looks great with the dark wheels too! Enjoy :driving:
