Hi all,

I bought an E86 last year so thought i'd join the forum as it looks like a great community. It's a 2007 Black Sapphire auto - lovely car!

I had a very similar one a few years back between 2015 - 2017 and since selling I was always hoping I'd be able to get another. That time finally arrived! It's in pretty good condition, mainly just the 108s that need a refurb as expected and still on run flats but I might end up swapping them out for a different set of 18s or even 17s and ditching the run flats!

Anyway good to meet everyone!

Welcome to the forum, and to Coupe ownership.

They do seem to be addictive - I'm on my 3rd now.

While they do look great, 108s are a PITA with galvanic corrosion lifting the lacquer around the bolt heads. I sold the ones on my previous Coupe while they still looked decent and bought a set of E89 wheels.

Most people on here recommend ditching the run-flats but I never managed to wear them out on my first 2 Coupes. My current one never had run-flats anyway so I've sort of done it by accident!

Thanks! Yep the style of the 108s really suit the car but shame the corrosion seems inevitable…

I swapped out the front run flats on my previous one (kept the rears as they were basically new when I bought the car) and it was a massive improvement!

Welcome, just spotted your intro post after of ‘glazing conversation’ lol! Car looks good, I have 108’s on mine but they will be gone by the end of the week, always told myself when I bought one of these it would sit on CSL reps.

I don’t know why but it just does something for the shape. I have a few preventative jobs to do over next few weeks but other than that it’s just enjoying the drive.

Si
