New E85 2.0i Sport in Yorkshire

Hello, newbie here! Recently bought a 58 Plate (09) 2.0 Sport E85, and i must say i'm quite impressed.

Sold my old 3rd Gen RX7 in the summer after 10 years of ownership and was looking for something a little different.

To be honest i was looking at a 3.0is, but found a 2.0i for sale not far away in Oughtibridge, so decided to take it for a test drive, with no intention of buying, just to see if i liked the experience of open top motoring. Needless to say I ended up buying it.

Having come from a 350bhp+ car of similar weight, I was never going to blown away by the power of a 2.0i, but you know what? it's enough...

Since buying we did a run to Whitby and managed 45mpg! I've done some coding (3 indicator flashes / drive off lock / remote roof close / close windows with door open / fog lights as follow me home / turned off the ridiculous beep when it gets below 3 deg C / turned off the handbrake beep / flash indicators when unlocking).

Just need to sort out the 108 Alloys as they are in a right state for a 6yr old car. Anyway, here are some pics taken at the weekend.

Welcome.
Nice car.
While its always nice to have a bit extra under the bonnet.
In the real world.
Forgetting all the pub talk, most times enough is enough.

Mr Wilkes on here is your man for 108's
If you fancy partx instead of splitting and refurbing yourself and he's not a million miles from you.

Looks great :)

Machine monkey can work his magic on the 2.0 exhaust system and give you some extra grunt too if thats your thing :)

Welcome to the forum,

It's a wonderful experience, open top motoring, not surprised you went on to buy. I had a 2.0i Sport and loved it.

:driving:

I've got a 2.0i and love it does well to keep up with Paulgs1000 :poke:  think it could be his driving tho.....

Welcome to the forum Jonrx, where about's in 'Gods own county' are you?

The reason I ask is we are looking to arrange a new year 'Catch up' at the Turnpike Inn, Rishworth, Halifax, on Sunday 01/03/2015.

It's an opportunity to grab & coffee & a bun, & put faces to the forum names, as look towards planning some good 'Hoons' in the coming months.

Z's are optional on the day as it's just a general chin wag - be nice to see you there

Lovely motor. My 2.0 has enough grunt that Im ever going to use, hell I built up 6 points in my Citroen Picasso diesel! Lovely interior just like mine. Black or red is so.....passe!

Yep 2.0 ltr is enough for a bit fun had ours for 18 month economical & cheap weekend toy. Your going to have to split the 108's to do a proper job though best route is plenty of heat on the bolt heads as there titanium and not cheap. :driving:

Thanks for the warm welcome. Hope to get out to a few meets in the future.
The 108s really surprised me, great looking wheels, but just rotten on the inside. I'm not too far from metal magic in Barnsley that do powder coating of wheels. Heard mixed reviews though. Has anyone on here used them?

My 108's were split and refurbished when i bought the car on the weekend however if they did a naff job (didn't though) i was going to take my wheels to CAS coatings in Bradford who when i visited had a number of BMW wheels ready for collection. They charge £1 per inch and shot blast and powder coat.
