Going to buy some new discs and pads for my 3.0l e89 2010 model and thinking of using Mtech drilled and grooved.

What else should I purchase with the discs and pads so my local garage can fit them without any issues, do I need brake sensors and new brake pipes etc would like to get everything done at same time if possible, is there any suggestions where to buy the adhoc parts?

Thanks

Yes get new wear sensors, especially if a garage is fitting them. They are bound to break the old ones.
One for each axle only (and they are different parts as one is longer. The front IIRC).
Don't see why you would need new brake lines unless the old ones are perished or badly corroded.

Autodoc.co.uk is generally the cheapest place for parts. They have a huge selection too. Be prepared to wait a t least a week for them to be delivered, though, as they come from der vaterland; Deutschland.

Mtec had a option for plated discs.
I just painted the standard hub part with silver paint, stops them rusting.
Also i use green stuff pads, very little if any dust.
Had them on car at least 6 years and 40k plus miles, still good.

Yes, get sensors. Be prepared to have potential issues resetting the brake wear interval on the dash. I had to use ISTA-D.

Dont know which car you have but if you want a premier innovative product look at this company.

I have them on my 35i running 420 BHP with redstuff part ceramic pads. The performance is nothing short of EPIC and pretty much zero dust from the part ceramic red stuff pads - and no they dont wear out your discs.
Done 10k miles on them so far.
Drilled discs are cosmetic, slotted discs are functional performance and if the drilled holes are not countersunk you can get cracks. Loads of info on this via youtube from brake gurus.

Mtec are countersunk.
The grooves are more for reducing scratching and wear.
Very little on my cars Mtec discs. I keep thinking should i replace, but seem ok.
At least BMW put their calipers  on the rear to scrap off the contaminants.

Thank you for the advice, Pondrew, Flybobbie, Warmasice and McButler much appreciated.

Scruffy bolts get some nut caps.
I scraped the security bolt i could see them getting stuck with the squiggly bit corroding.

They look great with those wheels bud,
i had those on my 23i still a favourite, also love the gold accent on the calipers, nice touch might copy that (highest form of flattery so they say).
Scrapping the locking wheel bolt is a great idea mate. My first tyre change on the 23i was a nightmare. I ordered them from Asda Tyres delivered to their local fitter. I arrived at 10:00 and I was still there at 18:00 because of the bloody locking bolts. It was only by chance that the Snap-On tool van called in and he had some special sockets you hammer on to get them off.
Fitter told me its a common issue on BMW and a few others. The bolt is about 10mm longer than it needs to be so if the tyres are on there for years (low mieage cars) they rust on solid and shear the nut key off like mine did. He advised binning them or grinding all the studs down to the correct length.

My problem was the last fitter rounded the squiggly bit by over tightening, so i could remove it, then got rid of the whole set.
Perfect for a set of caps.
Brake caliper has been gun metal colour last few years, fancy a change again.
