New discs and pads

So, upon investigation of a sticky caliper (replaced yesterday) it seems that both of my front discs are below the minimum thickness. How the dealer didn't spot this at the >£800 Inspection II service which was less than 2,000 miles ago I don't know.

I'm thinking of getting the ECP Pagid discs (10% discount this weekend) and some RS29 pads for up front. Is it advisable to upgrade the rear pads at the same time or will it be OK for a bit?

Min thickness only applies when you change the pads, so unless they changed the pads nothing to report.

So I should expect that when it went in for the next service in 15000 miles' time they would be like doilies?

The minimum thickness is calculated so that there is enough disc material left to last another set of pads. I presume unless you're going to particularly exotic pad compounds the pad to disc wear ratio is pretty linear ;)

Plus if I haven't triggered the low pad sensors do I need new ones or can I re-use the old ones? Wife's new 3-series has those sensors that wear continuously and tell you the remaining pad life, but I don't think we have those.
