Well as work is now an 80 mile commute away again, also now 5 days a week as straight day shift, a new DD was required.

Handy having a mate who's a car dealer and I've just bought this 2014 Audi A3 Sportback TDI from him after having it on loan for a week to try out.

Gave it a clay bar/T cut/wax today and it's turned out pretty good. Next steps are an aircon regas (provided the system is ok) and an alloy wheel refurb, probably in gloss black. Not sure on the window tint, so that may be going.

Zero road tax and insurance costs are more than covered by the 70-80 mpg I'm getting.

I seem to be very Germanic these days mate.

It met the brief and at £2k below list was a no brainer.

Very shiny.

I spent the entire day cleaning and polishing my Mx5 today. :D Not sure my daily has ever had such TLC, but I keep it clean.

The Audrey's do have a good interior, don't they? Only ever had one (A6) but all the switchgear was in a logical place and the plastics seem like they could withstand a nuke.

Does it have the 2L 140bhp engine?

Think so on the engine.

Interior is fine, only gripe is the MMI keeps dropping connection to my phone.

I like the A3, owned 2 in the past, think it was when it first came out a 1.6 Sport in 1996 followed by a 1.8T Sport in 1998, they always felt posher than a Golf :)

Tim.
