Well It only took me 3 weeks to scuff one of my new wheels! gutted, being how fussy I am I'm having it sent off to be fixed ( acid dipped powder coated etc) as have had mobile re-furbs before & the finish never lasts.£90 but should be like new-god I hope I'm more careful in the future

It's awful isn't it, I scuffed one of my rears whilst parking the other week, as soon as I got home I took the wheel off and repaired it in the garage, good as new now, note to self, be more careful!!

Lots of us have been there. I remember doing it to one of my rear wheels and standing in the drive way seething for hours once home.

In any event, that wheel (296) then cracked so I got another pristine one under warranty. See, there is a positive side to the 296 cracks.. they'll always look like new, because they are lol

I remember scuffing one of my CSLs about a week after I got the car.

Was in Wales (in winter) and coming out of a village when the driver in front moved over to the RH lane to turn right at the roundabout. I approached the roundabout and was going straight ahead, so stayed on the LH lane to do so. As we both moved off, the driver of the other car cancelled their indicator and started moving over towards my lane. I swerved, beeped, and then hit the kerb at the edge of the exit road.

The other driver changed their mind again and went right.

I pulled over and saw a 12" scrape along my near side front CSL :x

I was not happy!!!

That's when I decided to investigate 1) tyres with a bigger rim protector, and 2) wider tyres that would fit the CSLs to protect the rim a bit. Didn't bother in the end as the first 2 months of ownership (2-3000 miles of commuting and regular 250 Welsh trips) made me realise I didn't like the way the car handled on the 19" wheels, and went back to 18s.

Thanks for all your kind words & glad to see I'm not the only muppet on here :P am a little worried as the finish is hyper silver,do you think they will match? When I asked they said you could get both wheels done on that side to be sure, but as they are only 3 weeks old surely it will match? :? Don't want to pay for 2 as an skint after,car-wheels-tyres-insurance.and am only a cart tart so not loaded :D would like your thoughts :dizzy:

Its typical literally days or a week after did it on my first beemer was so mad. Haven't managed to kirb mine yet but the fitters made a bit of a mess putting the tyres on I was furious. But they are very small but annoying because you no the marks are there.

It's like many things in life: the less you care, the more you can enjoy. You're annoyed for a few days but a few scratches shouldn't ruin the enjoyment of your Zeddy.
