I remember scuffing one of my CSLs about a week after I got the car.
Was in Wales (in winter) and coming out of a village when the driver in front moved over to the RH lane to turn right at the roundabout. I approached the roundabout and was going straight ahead, so stayed on the LH lane to do so. As we both moved off, the driver of the other car cancelled their indicator and started moving over towards my lane. I swerved, beeped, and then hit the kerb at the edge of the exit road.
The other driver changed their mind again and went right.
I pulled over and saw a 12" scrape along my near side front CSL :x
I was not happy!!!
That's when I decided to investigate 1) tyres with a bigger rim protector, and 2) wider tyres that would fit the CSLs to protect the rim a bit. Didn't bother in the end as the first 2 months of ownership (2-3000 miles of commuting and regular 250 Welsh trips) made me realise I didn't like the way the car handled on the 19" wheels, and went back to 18s.
