New comer to the forum

Hi All!
Just thought I'd introduce myself, my name is Chris and I'm from South London and I bought myself a 2007 blue M roughly around a year ago from having a Corsa VXR and what a car the BMW is, I love it!

So far I have given it a few presents RPI backboxes, RPI scoop with Bmc filter, alloys painted in gloss black, strut brace, a remap from evolve with launch control and that's about it.

My car is currently around 46,000 miles and I had my inspection 2 service not long ago.
I also changed the gearbox, engine and differential oil along with a brake fluid flush and coolant flush 4000 miles after the inspection 2 service.

Is anything else advised? as I've heard about the vanos and also the engine needs inspecting.

Hi and welcome. There have been a few scare stories recently regarding top and bottom end. There doesn't seem to be a pattern though.

Vanos was my fear when I bought mine, but just keep an ear on it. If the noise changes then get it looked at pronto.
 
Yep. Definitely require picutres, then we can diagnose what else you need !

Welcome to the forum. Valve clearances if not already done at ins II and of course pictures.
 
:D Haha I'm liking the forum already, car starts like a dream.
Only a slight leak on the sump plug which is frustrating, I've torqued it up but still leaking, I have tightened it a tad bit more so hopefully has cured it as it's messing up my driveway! :D

I'm on the iPhone any good apps to upload them from?

Weird enough when I had inspection 2 they haven't mentioned valve clearances? Any well known garages around the London area that can do the valve cleanrence check? other than BMW as I want to be sure it's done. I've had a hell of a time with main dealers and very much put off from using main dealers.
 
Car looks a gem :) welcome to the forum :thumbsup: who did the Ins2 & how much did they charge as it should have included the diff & gearbox oil change :?

The car is something else, just amazing how the power and the way it handles. Amazing!
The inspection 2 did note an oil change on all (engine, gearbox and diff) which was a year ago. But when I went to change it myself recently the oil was like water and was very dark in colour, was relieved I changed it for peace of mind.

Anyone know of any trusted garages in London?
 
BMS in Leatherhead are good,my son has used them and he has nothing but praise for them.
