new clear brake light not working?

Just fitted a new clear brake light (centre light) from BMW. It's not working even though it's all attached and wired up. Does anyone know why this could be?

So after further investigation, the original light had two prongs but the new one has three. I guess this is why it's not lighting up. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

The above was incorrect, it's not three pins. I attached the old one and that works, the new attachment is the same, so it would suggest the light unit is faulty. Ordered direct from BMW so it'll be under warranty
 
My rear lamp is cracked, not sure I will replace it with white as I think the three red lamps against my blue looks balanced.

Plus, you have hogged an entire thread with no other interventions, so I thought I would join in so you didn't feel so left out.

Thanks for the support..feel like I've been answering my own issue..think I've solved it now
