Out in the Zed searching routes and came across a new café at Wylam (west of Newcastle). Lovely use of a classic garage in the village. Café with Classic Cars on display (as well as renovations and maintenance work in the workshops). Nice twist and certainly somewhere we'll visit again to see if the cars on display change. Cakes sausage bacon corn beef pie cheese and onion pie scones tea coffee - just the basics but a I hope it's successful.

Wow
It looks like a drive-through in a time warp.
...just park next to your table over there sir!
Must call in next time we are in the area.
Thanks for posting Paul

Sent this to my son who lives in Denton Burn. Apparently it's on the route of his usual cycling training ride and he said he'll drop in for a look when he next passes. Thanks for the heads up.

That looks kinda cool - nice find might try and meet you there Paul on way to or from Amsterdam ferry in September ! :driving:

It was a surprising but delightful find. There was a guy from the garage section there when we first visited and he spent a lot of time talking about the new venture and the cars on display.

Have visited since and the tea and coffee was good - food basic - certainly deserves to be successful and it sounds like a few from the forum will visit. Result!

Nice meet up place Jax - yes do keep in mind if you've got the time.

There's another impressive café on Whitley Bay front, Big Kahonas, do you know it - down opposite the swimming baths in front of the Rendevous Café by the small car park - has some great art in it as well as being a nice meet up point - seems very popular. Didn't know it had opened until we went on a drive out to St Mary's Island.
