New chav game?

I've not experienced this before, but I was travelling along minding my own business doing the usual safe speed in a 30mph zone. A chav mobile travelling in the opposite direction suddenly steered right into my path. He was very close anyway, I presume the intention is to make you panic and be forced off the road/into parked cars. Very bizarre. I didn't alter my path and of course at the very last second he dipped back onto his side of the road. Stolen car perhaps.

Anyone else experienced such a thing?

I didn't even get chance to clock the plate. I was going up a small hill and he came over the brow so it happened quite quickly. I could imagine easily being freaked out and veering off the road.

Maybe he just was n't paying attension and crapped himself too. Hate to think some one would do that deliberately. If it was deliberate he'll get his soon, just hope no one else is involved. Glad your OK.

Unfortunately, my instinct is that it was meant. Happened in Houghton Regis near Dunstable, there's quite a few halfords saxo types in that area. Thanks yes glad there was a no collision outcome just heart stopping for a few seconds.

Just more and more reasons to hard wire front and rear dashcams in :(

Perhaps we should have a new thread from those that have them; Twat of the day...

I'm going to get a front mounted one for sure. Not so sure of the benefit of rear one though.

Rear to cover yourself when some twat keeps charging your rear, drops back and goes again. Especially as that seems to be the tactic of under quota'd plod. You can observe the twatishness as they do mad overtaking moves to get behind you and not only as they carve you up to cut into the queue of traffic.

There was a post on here where someone turned their rear cam on, the little red light lit up and said plod started behaving and backed right off.

It would have made entertaining footage where a learner car narrowly missed my stationary car and went up the verge to my left. Cutting from one cam to the other as it went by would have got a decent number of youtube hits :D

id agree with that as i am 100% positive plod in chester were baiting me the other night in a chuffin diesel fiesta. luckily i cut my driving teeth in chav central mid 90's doncaster where the merest hint of a look or mm move forward at a set of lights meant you were trying to race (i might add i had a fiat 126 so the only thing i was racing was an asthmatic snail) so alarm bells rang and i behaved.

problem with them in the Z is the screen is already small and has the satnag screen, maybe a concealed one behind a kidney grill?

If anyone has managed a concealed installation of this type on an E85 (ideally front & rear cameras) I, for one, would be very interested in the details

"Techmoan" does quite good reviews of a variety of cameras.
The one featured below is not exactly concealed but might offer some possibilities.

On the other hand having it visible and eay to remove has benefits. Cash for crash scammers might give you a wide berth if they spot a camera and possibly plod if you are behaving.

Worth looking at some of his videos if you aren't sure what to look for.

This may be of interest.

The issue with external concealed is keeping them clean. My current thought is on on the passenger side upper windscreen behind the rear view mirror (but need to check wiper sweep) and maybe inside a roll hoop on one of the seats for rear facing. It's just a case of minimising wiring which looks crap.

The ideal thing would be a boot mounted recorder (so it's easy to get at the SD card) - it wouldn't have to be HD video so remote wide-angle lenses at the end of fibre-optic cables would be good - then one could be mounted inside one of the headlamp shells and the other at the top of the exhaust cutout.

Dangerous cretins are not entirely new I'm afraid :x
