New car vs ZM insurance

Mines only £250, and even adding my GruppeM last week didn't add anything to the policy except a £25 admin fee :headbang:

So John I'll not break it to you that I've just got a quote for my 35is, 5 years protected NCD, social only, myself and 3 other named drivers and legal cover (as they seem to make you opt into that now) for a cool £198 with £250 excess or £238 with zero excess. Not bad going I thought.
£193/year for social, domestic & commuting, 7 years protected NCD, 10k/year, £300 excess & 1 named driver who holds an non-UK driving licence 8)

Now is this actually what you will be quoted in 3/4 months or is this the overall price after moving from your 120 to the 35is? If so that's not a yearly figure as you had to pay a pro rata amount for 4 months. Johns is a fairer assessment as he only renewed his insurance less than a month ago so has almost the whole year to go.

You may find that it increases to more than £193 if this is not your renewal or a new quote.

I am 2 months away from 50, full NCB, use the car for SD&P. No accidents, claims, convictions, etc ... £400 for my 35iS with Admiral who were the cheapest.

I guess if I didn't live in the SW London part of Surrey it may be a nicer figure - still I think back to years ago and regularly paying £650/700 for a lesser car even with full NCB and I suppose the 35iS is still good value.

My renewal is up in September so we'll see what happens as I'll have turned the dreaded 50 !

That is what I've payed had I taken out a full years policy. The pro rata payment was a £17.84 debit into my account.

Something wierd has happend over the last year, last time I looked things like m3's cost about 1 k to insure, now I'm getting quotes on confused for around £440

Prices have gone up in the last month but for now a z43.0si costs about £411, that's for 13,000 miles,
I have lots of ncb ( protected) and the car will be kept on street, also have 3 active points but have to declair 6.
I nearly forgot im old, 37

Crazy thing is mz4c seems to cost 61 pence more to insure.

I am paying £500 with A-plan. Had real trouble insuring the MR as my 9+ years no claims is taken up on another car and very few insurers "mirrored" my no claims bonus or came out with crazy prices for a car doing only 4K miles a year.

Can people tell me who they are insured with, especially if it is a second / third car in the household. I never had this problem with the Supra as it was 17 years old and only £280 on a classic with Lynbrook Insurance.

H.

Just renewed mine. I am 59, SWMBO is 48, both full no claims & no points on licences, social and commuting, fully comp with protected no claims and legal assistance.......£202.

Thanks Meercats!
