Hi all,

Just bagged myself a 2006 3.0Si. Think my lack of patience got to me.

The good.
Good set of service records and the car pulls really nicely.
Water pump and roof motor sorted. Various other bits of work done.
I love the 125 alloys although I dont see too many of them around.
No big issues on the 180 mile drive home!

The bad - A few small things making the car look tired.
Badges
A few poorly touched up scratches
Windscreen rubber surround perished
The aluminium trim on the door handles looking tired
Drivers seat needs a bit of leather care.

The ugly
Fog lights not working (although condensation and failure seem common). Might blank these off.
Steering wheel sticks (resistance) a little dead on centre whilst on motorway.
Drivers side headlight has some small damage inside…might be needing a new headlight.

All in all happy with it. I’ve always feared working on my car and screwing up on a Sunday night then not being able to get to work on Monday. Since this is a weekend toy it means I can give the easy jobs a go! For the harder stuff I’m hoping Stuart (Bigwinn) can help :D

Plans are for Stuart to see if anything needs doing immediately, maybe some bushes or suspension components. A gearbox oil change might be a good idea too. Get a ZHP gearknob and sort the above issues out at a leisurely pace.

You bought the one on cutters then. Tbf that was a good price so that allows you a bit of money to sort the little bits

Nice one thanks!

Congratulations, those 3.0Sis have such great engines.

Foglights are a regular problem, but blanking them off would solve that and Stuart should be able to sort your sticky steering - another common issue!

Stuart is absolutely brilliant. I can vouch for him without any reservations. He has done loads of work on my cars. The most recent project was installing electric seats on my E89. It was a complex operation but with some help from Anubis Z and USEL and a lot of hard work the job was done. These guys put the ‘so called’ professionals to shame.👍👍👍

I think I’ve stuck a bit of gold not being too far away from him.
He’s kindly offered to do a bit of work and teach me at the same time. I’m actually quite excited!
