New Car - Mercedes AMG GTS

Hi all,

I put my 981 Boxster S up for sale with a view to replacing it with a Boxster Spyder, or possibly a Ferrari California, but I ended up taking a different route!

Here's the new beast:

2016 Mercedes AMG GTS, Premium Pack, Interior Carbon Pack, Night Park, Driving Assistance Pack, etc.... fully loaded with toys.

Most definitely! An incredible car. I loved it. It's so much fun, they sound incredible, amazing handling and they look great. I'd get another one day!

They're spec dependent, they're a much better car with Sport Chrono and Sports Exhaust for example.

I'll miss that car!!

I love these. I think they're a fantastic understated car. No one really pays much attention to them, until they hear the roar :evil:

The interior is very nice also.

Decided to just go for it, I can always sell it if I need the money one day!! I've never been one to lose money on cars, I've always tried to keep depreciation to a minimum and upgrade at each step.

Really happy with the car, it's a monster. I can't quite believe how quick it is!! :lol:

I am sure you won't mind some balance on this thread. I don't like these, they look like a BMW E89 with the hood up and I don't like the E89. Now where is that 911 brochure? Sorry if it seems harsh, but I always remember the Emperor's Coat and my wife does say that at times I am like a 12 year old boy.

not liking the GTS i think you will be in a minority here , but then haven't you a "Polestar2" on order ?

on the contrary, in my eyes, it's the most natural -beefed up- evolution of the E86

Indeed. For some reason, they look quite 'normal' coupe in photo's.

In the metal, they look awesome. They certainly stand out in a queue of Hyundai's and vw's!

They're a lovely car, make thunder of a noise and I love the colour you have chosen....did you consider a few other cars in the same category? I'm shopping in the market at the moment and the Mclaren 570s for £100k is my front runner right now. I think that'll hit it's depreciation bottom at £80k, but I'd rule out the GTS as I worry like all AMG's it would keep falling to £40k like all other big Mercs do.

Also, I personally really dislike the naff ipad stuck on the dashboard, nothing will age a car faster than this type of tech. For similar money the current gen R8, 570 and 911's do a much better job of integrating this and will age a lot better as a result.
