New Car - Mass Debate

You're right, it's hard to get used to, trying to turn the wipers on could be dangerous!! The 350 has a 10 week wait time and sorry to say getting tempted by a 220 CDI ready to go....I know I'll regret it though....

I know, but get this, Hughes of Beaconsfield, had a new one in their showroom and the pushed it out and let me test drive it, only 7 miles on the clock....the 220 is very very slow though.....and the 350 is only 4K ish more....

no don't do it, honestly its a heavy car and needs the V6 :D
I would second this too, my old 520d was easily the worst car I have owned engine wise & I am not anti diesel in anyway as I loved our 330d very much, more cylinders equals more smoothness & effortless power, a 4pot diesel is the pits imo, but appreciate its each to their own.

What do I know anyway as we have both gone back to petrol! :driving:

I have had a 330 D for the last 10 days, it's an amazing engine. House sale still 4 weeks or so off yet, so nothing happening until then. And divorce yet to be finalised. So the new car will be the only love of my life for the foreseeable future!!! Giving up on relationships!!!!!

To be completely honest I don't care if its fabric or metal, the only really important part is that it has to be a convertible.

I'm the opposite again! I liked the drive and the look of the E89, the fact it had a folding roof was a bonus as I've never been a roof down person myself. I rarely had the roof down on the Z4 to be honest. If they made an E89 coupe at the time I would have probably bought that. :)

Since selling the Z4 I haven't had one day so far where I have missed the roof being down.
If I am totally honest & I have said this before one of the biggest reasons I sold my Zed was because of how terrible imo it looked with the roof up, I hated the fabric roof & I thought it looked cheap & nasty but I also agree the problem with a metal roof is that they add weight & compromise boot space.

Which pretty much sums up why I prefer coupes to a convertible as chopping the roof off is a compromise whichever way you do it, but the driving experience is enhanced with the roof off & I do genuinely miss that as the engine/exhaust noise sounds so good in a convertible...you can't win!

Well my house sale has become very very complicated and I can't take the Mercedes in time as they wanted me t have it this month, and my house sale looks like being a nightmare so I have decided to keep the Z and see what prices are like come winter. You won't believe this but the dealer has refunded my deposit too, which is amazing. Hughes of Beaconsfield. Merc dealer not owner by Merc UK

So I'm pleased but said for a guy on here who is called Steve who was ready to part with his money. Sorry mate, you're a top bloke and I hope you find a car soon
