Old car friends as we all have Z4’s as well 🤣

And thank you!

A bit late to this one, love the 718, far better than the earlier versions and the flat four would not worry mean the slightest, car looks very nice indeed

I have been looking at them this week as well as an F type which I also love, not yet though maybe in 12 months time

Had decided on a Cayman, but after an extended search and looking at a few that didn’t hit the spot this came up, love it

I do have the flat 6 981 but Im not averse to the 718 4 pot, parked up next to one a few weeks ago and it sounded ok to me with the PSE burbling away and the bodywork updates just made it look a bit more modern again👍

New wheels look fantastic , still need to get a nice set of 19s on mine

Congrats buddy, still loving mine 18 months on

That’s lovely, the flat 6 does sound better… but the flat 4 is a bit like old school Beetle on steroids, I quite like the sounds it makes

Looks a cracker, would rather red or blue but it does look very nice in white as well

As you know, I was considering and M4 (and M2) and they come decently equipped without going mental on the options list. Problem with a Porsche, as I quickly discovered, is that almost everything is an option (and usually expensive). Finding a used Porsche with the options you want and in your perfect colour choice can be very frustrating :headbang:

Cornwall looks remarkably similar to parts of Devon. In fact, identical to one place in particular :P
Great pic and congrats on the new car. A four cylinder, mid-engined car can be a beautifully balanced thing and I’m sure yours is plenty fast enough. Those I’ve heard sound pretty good too.

Good spot, that is Devon and that was on the way back from Cornwall

It’s plenty for the UK roads in reality.

Devon is ok ,apart from a lot of the best roads are now riddled with potholes, mid wales seem to have far better roads, but who wants to live in mid wales. :fuelfire:

The M4 is a fantastic car - unfortunately for you the insurance was a killer but the 718 is a superb choice.

For me the options would drive me mad as I would want what I want and I wont compromise but I may have to as luggage space in the F type looks very limited.

Not exactly a hard compromise though

Yes the insurance was weird, way more expensive for an M4 than everything else, including M2’s which makes no sense at all :?

It’s not a hard compromise at all 8)

The Mrs had a drive today and loves it.

Very nice

I’ve looked at 718’s in Cayman form and the 4pot noise doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t think it particularly worse or better than the flat 6.

Might be controversial but I much preferred the Z4M S54 noise to that in my 2013 Cayman S.

Very strange on insurance mine is less than £600 a year and includes legal cover / car / breakdown - just odd other than where you live.

I dm not a fan of earlier boxsters but the 718 does look much better IMHO - one of my mates has one but its a garage queens have seeing twice in 3 years.

My Mrs wont go near the M4 - she is used to an SUV so prob my next car will be the same.

It does look good in white

I don’t think that’s controversial at all, I test drove a flat 6 981 and it did sound great, but I much prefer the sound my Alpina makes :sweetheart:

Well,….

Was looking for a Cayman for a while and bought this out of a little bit of frustration at not being able to find the right one. Had a couple of lovely road trips in it, including a weekend away in Devon and Cornwall.

Saw a 718 Boxster wanted add on a FB group, so responded and had a number of enquiries about this car. Sold to a very genuine chap the next day. So went from ‘not even for sale’ to ‘viewed, test driven and paid for in full’ within 24 hrs!

Cayman incoming :D
