New Car Advice

Hi,

A week on Monday I take delivery of a brand new Z4 2.0SE, and I was just wondering if there was any driving recommendations for the initial few hundred miles - is 'running in' still applicable these days? Also, is there anything I should keep my eye out for when checking the vehicle and signing for acceptance (common faults etc.).

Any help appreciated,

Jonathan

Despite all the hype of modern cars built to better tolerences etc. I believe it's still a really sensible practice to drive carefully for the first few hundred miles. Warm up the engine, never more than 2/3 throttle. 3000 revs top. no harsh braking, etc. Longer runs and not stop start. Of course if it's a company, lease 3 years and hand back people don't care how it is down the road, so don't bother.

I'd just go all over the car looking for poor fit items, rattles, paint faults, etc. Defects will show soon enough as you use it.
