New brakes today

Got the car back today with;
4 new discs
4 new braided hoses
4 sets on Mintex 1155 pads
4L of Motul 660 brake fluid

Epic. If you need part numbers I'll dig them out?

Hmm, Mintex 1155 eh? Be prepared to get a load of friction material welded to the side of your car. When you try to get rid of it using a clay bar, expect a rusty-coloured mess. Great pads for stopping though. Hopefully they've improved the formula now that they're the same company as Pagid.

:D :D :D sorry, 4 bottles, 2L of fluid.

Yes used Mintex for many years so well aware of this, but car well maxed and sealed and fitted with front and rear mudguards.

Front rotors were from Euro parts. i phoned the local branch in the end as pin line they were always out of stock. they had them and i explained that i had missed the valentines 50% special offer and i got them for £134 +VAT each, rears for £105 + VAT each. Their part numbers are:
LH = 104111208
RH = 104111218

Well initial feedback is that they are very very good, which is perhaps not un expected. They are a bit more grabby in the initial phase than I remember Mintex 1155's to be, so a little more fineness on the road is needed. Oh and they squeal :oops:

Which discs are you using? Are they drilled and/or slotted? I don't remember 1155s being grabby at all -- they used to require a determined pedal shove but then were very good. I think my favourite pads ended up being Pagid RS42-1 but since then I've tried the latest EBC Greens on a much lighter car and been more impressed than I thought I would be.

I'm at the other end of the scale, daily driving on Pagid RS29 race pads. They squeal A LOT unless bedded in properly but i dont mind it. Before you ask I used to track the car very often and i already had the pads laying around hence why they're on.

Markcoopers try bedding them in and see if they still make noises. I use Stoptech's procedure outlined here: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers I've found that the Pagids quiet down for a while once i do that procedure.

Yes, they need some heat cycles into them, and I have an old run way near me that I can get access to so as to do this safely :D

Standard cross drilled rotors used. I suspect the grabby nature is compared to the very badly cracked and pitted standard pads that had largely fallen to bits following some track action.

Should get my new front PSS tyres this week, so will try and get them all fitted on Wednesday :)
