Hi all

Can anyone offer me any advice on the below discs and if they will fit my 2004 Z4 roadster, I do like the look of these as they are drilled and grooved and ECP have a sale on so good price, typed in my reg number and it gave these to say will fit?
Also if I buy them and new pads is there anything else I will need, going to try and fit myself with all this time I have at home..

Thanks Steve

Do you have a way of pushing the pistons back into the caliper,I used a wind back tool. Make sure the mating surface on the discs and stub axle are cleaned of any rust and muck. They need to be spotlessly clean or you can get brake judder.
Remember, you are dealing with safety critical brakes.

The retaining bolt's are M8 actually it's M6 Iirc, with an 8mm drive, shouldered allen headed, only one per disc. I found that I needed to use an impact driver to free these off and I ended up having to replace one as it rounded off despite the correct sized allen drive. I had to drill it out, so be mindful of this potential snag.

As Scooby said, rounding the retaining bolts can turn a simple job into a real PITA. Use good quality and perfect fitting tools for this job, making sure you get good purchase from the first attempt. 3 of mine came out easy, and without any real effort. The last one was a real pain!

All pistons (mine’s a 53 plate 2.5) are push back, wind back tool is not required.

Caliper mounts are 16mm bolts and were very very tight, needing extra leverage. Make sure you have a 16mm ring spanner and or socket.

Although there are a few words of caution here, it’s a very straightforward job, probably about 2 hours work on a driveway.

Thanks Scooby and Lance
So the discs pictured should fit?
Will I need to purchase anything else before I start the job?

Thanks.

Fronts and rears are different sizes, 286mm front, 280mm rear.

Those in your pic would fit the rear on mine, which is a 2.5 on a 53 plate.

I can’t confirm fitment on your car as I’m unaware of year and CC. I know that the 3.0 requires different size discs.

Discs and pads is all you should need. There’s a pad wear sensor, which is re-usable if you’re careful when take them off the old pads. FWIW, I used Pagid discs and pads and am completely happy with them.
