New boots

Evening all,

Just got new boots for the zed. Swapped the 108's for these 107's. always wanted these. What do you think - worthwhile upgrade?

Personally I like that style of wheel but I suspect many on here will feel you have downgraded if you previously had the split rims.

Appreciate that. I always thought the elipsoids were the best looking wheel for the zed, just interested in what others think. Maybe it is a conversation for another section....

The 108s are the upgrade not the other way round, 107s are less expensive then 108s, around £500 from BMW cheaper, should have gone csl, 313, 224 fella, i have 107s.....not my cup of tea no more hence a 19" 313 swap next week.
When I posted originally I thought upgrade might not be the right word... point taken :) Dunno what it is about the 107's I just like them. When I was a young lad always like a Porsche with Teledial / Cookie Cutter alloys. I always thought Alfa Romeo did some nice wheels of a similar type. But love the look of the Zed (100 miles an hour standing still) so it has to be 107's for me but your 313's are gonna look the business. Nice way to fill the arches.

Pug 1.6 GTI MK 1 XR3i all had this style  I get what your saying

Not a fan of 108s despite the hype... Give the z such a dated look imo. Much fresher and nicer with ellipsoids.

As someone said you can't beat new wheels on a car, makes it feel like a new motor sometimes.

Will the Alfa wheels fit a zed????

Need to check PCD's & offsets (the diameter of the hub/stud distances & how far out/in centre of wheel is)

Looking at ths, answer's no

Back in 2005 when I bought my previous 3.0i SE Roadster the cost to upgrade to the ellipsoid alloys was the same as the 108's so it isn't a downgrade whatever the rest of them may tell you! They (ellipsoid) always were the best wheel choice for the Zed! You have good taste!

I will look into it if a hub spacer can be made to make them fit they would be bad ass on a zed.

Never say never........................

Cheers for all the positives. Nice to know that my taste isn't too bad  Machine Monkey I would be really interested in the answer regarding the Alfa wheels. :)

If anyone is interested my 108's are for sale on the Forum. Just off to buy a stubby....

Very busy for the next few weeks trying to get some stuff made for other members. And trying to get my car looking half respectable for Zed fest.

After that we will put our heads together and see what we can do.
