Finally got round to fitting my new wheels, which I've had sitting in the garage since before Christmas!
Now a word of explanation why I've chosen these. When I bought the car in 2004 I ordered it with 107's, which I changed to 108's three years ago. I fancied another change and wanted to go non OEM. I also liked the idea of something other than silver but, with the exception of a subtle change to a slightly darker shade, I didn't think black or anything too dark would look good with Maldives Blue. With the value of the car diminishing I also couldn't justify anything expensive. In the end I went for Lionheart RC1's (no, I'd never heard of them either) and got them shod with a set of Vreds. Total outlay £948.00 and I've still got the 108's to swap back to if I wish. I know that some of the cheaper after market alloys will degrade quite quickly, with water getting under the lacquer etc., but I don't do a lot of miles in this car and it's fast becoming a garage queen, having done about 8000 miles in the last six years. Note to self - must use it more! As a consequence, I reckon these should stay looking nice for a while. If not, my plan is to refurb them with an anthracite centre and silver rim (or something similar).
Oh, you'll also notice I' m a Mr Whippy advocate (no plan to change) and I won't be de-tangoing either!
