New Bonnet Cable

If this is the stuck bonnet problem, all you need to do is lubricate the mechanism. I had this problem and WD40 fixed it and lasted from when I got the car until I traded it in for the new one. You can get at the mechanism by removing a kidney grill, just lift and pull gently and it will come out.

If you're nervous about that, use the straw on the wd40 and spray over the lock mechanism.

I have tried that. When it was in the garage getting front pads and discs done, the mechanic greased it up for me but when we shut the bonnet again, it would not open. We diagnosed a stretched cable.

The BMW stealers tried to charge me for diagnosing the issue (WTF) and then they wanted to change the cable and entire lock mechanism.
