I noticed when I went online in my 2009 Z4 sDrive 35i with iDrive that the online service has changed:
The first intro screen showed this to start with
The above screen appears a couple of times as an Intro...
...before you get this:
There's a new APPLICATIONS setting - that according to the 'release details' will feature new application that can be added in future?
Not sure what?
Wondered if the online functionality of the Combox fitted in newer cars might be added? Perhaps Facebook?
Who knows..
This is on the 'release info' page:
"From 30th June 2011 the BMW ConnectedDrive Online Portal will be updated to include a new and improved layout that can be customised to meet your own personal requirements. The most common functions such as News, Weather and Google local search will be found on the BMW Online main screen. All further services will be located within the “Apps”category. Within this category you will be able to add in future services as well as remove services that are not relevant to you. Furthermore, a new “Recently used Apps” category will be available to help find frequently used services quickly and easily. These improvements will allow BMW Online to offer an even more flexible and user-friendly interface for both BMW drivers and passengers."
I'm not a fan yet, I had mine set so that the next few days' weather displayed as my home screen, now I have to go via this menu, and about three more clicks of the iDrive controller to get the next few days' weather.
Even more bl##dy annoying was I kerbed one alloy taking this pic (I was crawling at the side of a quiet road BTW before anyone moans at me. Taught myself an expensive lesson in taking these pics).
