New BMW Logo

Saw this today and to be honest I'm not a fan...I'm all for modernisation and keeping things fresh, but how it looks on the i4 is something you would make in school with a plastic cutting machine:

I'm a Head of Marketing for a tech company so I'm into brands and even I think the reasoning given by BMW is just a load of marketing b*****cks

That looks bloody terrible...just like the current BMW styling ! Awful looking cars, awful badge

It's to stop people gawping at the hideous grills on many of the new range models. Looks fine against the metallic paint in that promo pic.

If you consider the functionality insofaras teevin pikey's couldn't possibly nick it then I give it a thumbsup!

After watching Top Gear last night, and even though I think the M8 is a goodish looking car - £165k! Someone has lost the plot BMW if you factor in the horrendous grilles coming out on most new models!

Do you not think it looks like the plastic you used to use at school or something a 3d printer would produce? Agree with the grilles comment.

Would they even want to nick it, that's the question and maybe the plan!

Regardless of how the logo looks I can imagine the paint covered by it, looking different to the paint around it, after 10 years out in the sun. :(

Vw did a subtle change on their logo also, the visual design on flat surface is horrible. But 3D on the concept image. ITS ACTUALLY GROWING ON ME!!

Coming from a UI/UX designer, so visuals and aesthetics are my thing and from a brand perspective its a really difficult move, not everyone will love it. BUT one things clear its still iconic and people will 100% know that its bmw’s logo.

My only one concern is how will it look on a white background as white on white dont work with that border and what are logo variants!! =S

The roundel on the car picture, isn't white on white.

We will get used to it and we will like it. A bad result for their design team would be a warm fuzzy feeling of familiarity among their existing customer base.

Strong brands nearly always pull this kind of thing off.

I didn't like the picture of the badge alone, but as shown on the car I could get to like it.

Agreed  they are churning out some hideous looking cars these days the front bumpers remind of some of the bodykits I use to see at car shows
