New beast arrived

The new X5 arrived a couple of days ago. This is the X5M, 4.4 litre V8 with 575 hp. One of the last BMW V8s I expect, so it was now or never to get a great sounding car.

Toys with the car:

- Full extended leather including doors etc & alcantara roof lining.
- Heads up display
- Carbon fibre interior
- Panoramic sun roof
- Adaptive lights / high beam assist
- heated front, rear seats and steering
- Dimming / folding mirrors
- Speed limit display via cameras
- Electric boot
- in car wifi / internet
- Wireless charging
- 360 camera views

The heads up is good, the surround cameras very good as well (strangely enough I preferred the E70 surround cameras though). The finish with the alacantara roof is much nicer than on the E70, leather door cards give a nice touch to the finish.

It does indeed look like a beast - is this a keeper?

Very nice

I would imagine so - nothing else I would really want. The Jeep is the daily driver for the shops and local stuff including pubs etc, so the M will only come out for nice trips and going abroad.

Hence the choice of red leather 8)

Wow, lovely car...but really hope you got a good deal, the depreciation (like the power) on those things are savage, unbelievably savage!

A 5 year old one is £23k....

I aspire to owning a garage (including the cars) like that one day. You're living my dream. I tip my hat to you sir!

Love that interior on the X5

I’m after a 5 year old x5m - sounds a good price.

5 years seems to be around the 37k mark (old model). New deal is about £23k off list, so works out ok.

I buy my cars using man maths at its best

Lovely looking garage OP.

As you said, I doubt petrol V8 will be available too much longer - so enjoy yours!

Saw it in the flesh today or so to speak and it certainly is a beast.

Indeed it was nice to see.

First years road tax is hard to swallow though £2,400 :o

Long term investment, road tax in 5 years time is £140 whilst you Z4M drivers are paying £550 ++ :P
