New Battery Too Small

Hi,
I have just bought a new Bosch S4 battery for my car and it all fits fine except that its not long enough for the slide clamp to fit? Have a got the wrong version of the battery or can I adjust the clamp in anyway?

Thanks

I recently specced a new battery, although not yet bought one as it seems fine at the moment. Measuring the existing battery, the type 110 is pretty much the same (I decided on the S5 rather than S4). Which 'type' is yours? Here's a list of sizes:

Sorry was my fault. When I looked up on eurocarparts which battery to get they had a long list and I just selected the first Bosch S4 that came up as just assumed it was the correct dimensions for the car. They did in fact list a second S4 further down the list that is actually the correct size length ways but slightly short on height but it fits fine. Dimensions of old bmw battery are 278L by 190H the correct S4 is 278x175

This the one I got that is the better fit http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/BMW_Z4+Coupe_3.0_2007/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/electrical/car-battery/?444771007&1&0db0f6efac5c897f48afb869257c7d869646f3e5&000020

All newer type batteries for z4 are a bit smaller - even oem bmw ones
Thats why you can buy a small plastic piece that will install on the side of the battery and prevent it form moving around - I bought it from a deale for less than 10 euros :-)
Probably I dont have any pics of it but you can find it in realoem in batteries section
Should be called battery adaptor or smth like it :-)

Or just buy a 110 battery instead of a 096. Simples.

Just changed mine and they were pretty much the same price (Bosch S4) but the 110 had the correct 80AH rating and improved cold cranking from the original 665 to 720!
