new battery needed - AGM worth the extra?

Seems like I need a new battery so was looking at the 110 variant of the varta F18 or Bosch S5 but wondered if the AGM variants of these were worth it over standard for an e86?

The AGM is approx £30 more.

Go with a Bosch S5. It's typically around 30% higher spec than the OE so more than up to the job. AGM is primarily designed for vehicles with start/stop technology fitted so would be overkill on an E86. Also the S5 will come with 5yr guarantee, AGM only has 3.
 
Should do, I measured the existing BMW battery which is 175mm x 175mm x 315mm so hopefully a direct replacement.
 
I put in a 096 which is 190h x 175w x 278l - slightly taller but not as long. Went for a Varta as I understand they are made in the same factory as Bosch, come with an equal length warranty but are cheaper.
