New battery - need help registering/coding

Hi all,

I got myself a 2006 2.5si a month ago and love it! One issue is the battery. I charged it couple of times but it keeps dying after a week. So I am planning on buying a new battery this week.

The question is - where can I get it registered/coded in Leeds or the surroundings? Don’t mind paying but don’t want to go to the dealer.

The current battery is 80ah and I will replace it with 77ah but higher CCA. I don’t know if the battery that’s in the car now has been registered as it’s not the original one.

Thanks,

If it's been really dead for too long, you might find transport mode is on if it wasn't removed at the point of sale by the dealer.

Kicks in with a very low and dying battery on some cars.

Thanks for the replies.
It’s good to know that coding is not needed on E85. I’m not sure what transport mode does but the car has been running fine for the last month so I guess this is not an issue. I’m also not sure how to test the alternator itself. The voltage is >14v when the engine is idling. I will check the reading under load tomorrow.

Before buying your battery, check out the prices on Tanya. I saved a massive amount buying online and really happy with the quality (Bosch)
