New Aux input into radio. Help please

Help please,
I’m trying to fit my new aux input into the back of the business radio unit.
Everything ok but I clicked the connector block into the only place it seemingly can go but I’m getting no sound and Aux isn’t showing as an option when I cycle through the modes. FM CD CDC but no aux.
I’ve tried to play something from iPhone plugged in (just via YouTube) but nothing.
Can anyone please help troubleshooting?
Thanks

The radio is looking for 300K ohms of resistance, so it can "detect" the aux circuit. Once detected it will give you the AUX option in the menu. Make sure the AUX harness you installed has 300k ohms of resistance. A lot of the ones on Amazon and ebay don't have the resistor installed. Ask me how I know! :|

Thanks I bought what I assume is the bmw Oem one replacement panel and wiring.

Does my 3.5mm input jack need 3 connections or just the two stereo connections?

Ok so I had connected to the empty block on the bottom left, a YouTube video showed this.
I’m wondering if I need to rewire it into the existing white block on the bottom right which I assume is for the CD changer?
Pic incoming..

Having found this thread..

I’m pretty happy I had the aux connector block connected into the correct empty bay C.
Also the wires 3,4 & 10 are correctly connected into the plug/block itself.
Hmm..

If you have a multimeter I would still check for the 300K ohms between pins 3 & 4, as the aux plug itself could be bad or it could have come out of a later model BMW and just installed into the Z4 panel.

You do not need to have anything plugged into the AUX jack for the radio to recognize the AUX. So until you get your radio to recognize the AUX jack it doesn't matter. But you need three wires: left channel, right channel, and a ground.

[ref]BumpyZ4[/ref], thank you so much for your input.
Sorry for the very slow reply.
The problem persists, not working and no response from seller to second pm sadly.
I have borrowed a multimeter but have absolutely zero clue how to connect or use it!🤦‍♂️
Edit just found a great idiot guide on YouTube.
All 3 wires have continuity.
Is the resistor in the headphone aux in socket block or somewhere in the wire between the plugs at either end?
Just checking as I’ve disconnected to check the wires.
Btw all components have bmw on them.
All plugged back in but I still don't seem to be getting any resistance.

If you do not have 300K ohms between pins 3 & 4 at the connector at the radio then your AUX adapter is bad or wired incorrectly, see the below diagram. The radio is looking for the 300K ohms of resistance, so it knows that you have the optional AUX plug install and therefore will give you the AUX option on the radio menu.
