i personally think that the e85's are looking dated now, a tad unrefined and definitely not a design classic but they were pretty decent for the first years of their life

the e89 in m sport form is modern, refined and given the amount sold could possibly hold its value better in the future. i also think the arse end is very clean and tidy

I love the rear of the E89, it's one of the many reasons I went for the Zed over other makes :)

that jags arse is all messed up, dont like it at all.... a bit too fussy and sharp

I'm not that fond of either of their rear ends!

The E89 rear reminds me of that old Ford Scorpio thing. Awful. Rest of the E89 is lovely though.

I Wonder if its on VAG's MBQ Platform? Had ther golf 7 for 3 months and chassis was jolly good. VW did a simlar concept called the Blue Sport a few years back which should have got the go ahead in theory but no news since. Either way more lid engine entry to mid level sport cars into the market can only be a good thing. The worrying bit with Audi is that they rarely havbe the balls to actually goput their concepts into production...LIke the new Quattro for instance. They prefer to sell you ovebadged, overpriced and under engineered fake 4WD rep mobiles Skodas badge snobs. :fuelfire:

BMW have some serious catch up to do.

Fair point. They seem to be at a loss post Bangle era. They've maintained the proportions but the designes are overly fussy in exterior compensating for a lack of overall shape and cohesion.

New 3 series is a cock up too. More comfortable but not as good as previous + it has the interior of a 1 series...

Still my favoutite brand though

Those F Types are a thing of beauty. They're tiny and well packaged, the design is just faboulous as in XJ lovelyness. Apparently the one to go for is the V6 Supercharged.

Err...no the one to go for is the 700bhp model out 2016, (Auto Express) and if you can live with the badge it'll be cheap compared to other supercars, but it's not for me!

Would be cool if they made some GT3 type version. I suspect the 700 hp will be a replacement to their supercar turbine concept they've dropped as its easier to work from an existing Platform and will create the halo model they need. Price for sure will be 100k+.

Either way, its not all about power and as a drivers car the V6 supercharged is meant to be better balanced and more exploitable by keen drivers.

On the Porker subject I saw a 991 parked right besides an ordinary 996. Was surprised how much more svelte, tiny and better proportioned the 996 was, even though I've never been a fan ofg the shape. Looks like 911 are keeping going get fat diet...

'Live with the badge' ... What on earth is wrong with a Jaguar badge ?

Totally agree, Jaguar is an excellent "badge". Sure they have gone through a few questionable times but recently they have upped their game and if they start to produce awesome cars again then they will be a prestige brand again. "living with the badge" is (IMO) more suited to the likes of Nissan, where you can get awesome performance but a sub-par interior.

Oh dear sorry, what I meant was spending £170k + on a car I'd want a better badge, (McL12C/991turbo S/Ferrari) nothing wrong with the sub £80k brand models but over that no.?

Probably still not explained myself properly, I'll go and sit in the naughty corner for a while. :)

Nah, I get ya (now you've explained)... At that price I'd also want a different badge, until they can get back the the top of their game (think e-type).

Getting that I'd rather have a Jag badge than a BMW badge though, but that's a whole different argument :)
