Hi, after our resident moorhens lost all 8 of their eggs overnight they’ve regrouped and now have 9 new ones.
The first couple appeared today :P

We've just had a silly pheasant lay half a dozen eggs right in the middle of the lawn. No sign of mummy now and two of the eggs have already been scrambled by something  - what's the best thing to do? I know it's illegal to interfere with a nest but it seems silly just leaving them there.

Wait for the mother to return, dispatch it, roast and serve up with a side order of scrambled eggs.

No? Too far? Ok, sorry :D
