New alloys , wheel sealant

anyone used a sealant on their alloys to prolong the looks and life , any recommendations ? Just spent a fortune on these babies and want to keep them in tip top order

I think you will find most of us do. I'm still using Poor Boys wheel wax, but you will get 101 different recommendations.

Love the look there nice to see a break from the norm & the black backed alloys works well against the silver paint :wink: i use normal paint wax/polish on my alloys , currently Autosmart Topaz

Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour - it's a proper coating not a wax and will last for ages (they say up to 12 months with normal use). Once applied, you can just use a pressure washer and it's as close as you'll ever get to a touchless wash.

It's expensive but a 30ml bottle did two coats on my Alpina Dynamics (including the backs and inner barrel) with some left over, the remainder can be used on trim (it's the same product as Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer, just packaged differently and with different instructions)

Just make sure the wheels are scrupulously clean before applying - remove them, degrease inside and out, IronX etc. and then ensure they're completely dry. You want the C5 to attach to the paint/lacquer not to surface contaminants.

I'd rather know than not know - besides the M wheels are a dream to work with vs your Alpinas!

And just read on another thread that my go to wheel cleaner, bilberry is also pants

Works for me, so not reading that thread anymore - also spray citrus degreaser & ironx every now & again, so probably overkill.

Hoping for a large container of BSD for my birthday - the sample you gave me was amazing....almost had to take pictures of the beading last night, almost as I still have my limits

C5 sounds the way forward, interesting to know its is the same as C4 - my wife's black plastics need doing on the wing mirrors, but thinking I've got my numbers mixed up!

I have tried several waxes /polish with various results. After a bit of research my next move will be to Auto Finesse Mint Rims, it has good reviews.

Poorboys as many have said. Great price for a brilliant product. The majority of stuff in my detailing artillery is Poorboys

I'd agree with this, by far the bet wheel product you can buy that iv come across
