New alloys and RFT's

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can clear something up for me, can you use any "BMW" alloy with RFT's? I'm guessing that as long as it's OEM part than yes but what if it's a replica?

Will a replica be OK with RFT's?

Cheers for any info :)

For a while I had run flats on a set if 16 inch oem e36 alloys made by bbs. Not even sure if rft tyres were available at the time the alloys were produced. Kwik fit took the tyres off my style 104 rims and swapped em over without comment! There was no difference in feel from one wheel to the other.

So long as they have the extra lip that RFTs require for seating......

Now that's what I thought, but surely not all alloy manufacturers will put on the extra lip? I'm guessing the extra lip will be on both the inside and outside of the rim :).

Cheers for the info though :) We've got at least another 12k miles in the tyres so I'll be sticking with RFT's for a bit. just don't fancy paying over the odds for BMW OEM 19's :(
