Not sure I like it yet, I had the current model on order but not anymore :headbang:

The only difference from the current model is the rear lights. You cancelled your order, Kryton? Go and get Audi R8 instead. R8 is better looking than 911.

Any 911 will do me nicely. In addition to the M of course.

just one reason why I would never buy a porsche - they ALL look the same, and the design never moves on :zzzz:

Why change perfection.

Same reason I won't have plastic surgery

Never been a fan of the 911, but had a drive in a very special 996TT this week. Something to do with X50 engine and a few mods took the power from factory 470 to just over 500bhp.

Put through 4wd I can only desribe the acceleration as simply staggering in any gear and any speed and makes the Zed seem sedate.....

Wouldn't buy one though

It's all new, so it will make the 997 look dated in the way the 997 made the 996 look old hat....

The styling might be dull but the 997 is phenomenal to drive. It just has this precision and accuracy to it that's hard to explain; you get in one and feel like you've owned it for 10 years. I definitely get it, but they are just too common and too expensive for what they are IMO. £72k for an S and basics like electric seats are optional? No thanks.

my mate bought a 911 Carrera 4S recently, amazing car but then I started thinking about the model range, which is that vast it's actually getting quite confusing, geeky and rather boring, now another version coming out making his car dated in less than 2 years! it's hard to keep up with the model range the days.

for that reason, I'll take an R8 any day !

Looks like a Panamera rear, Boxster side, Caymen fronted 911. Dont like. Save your money and get a DB9.

The thing is if you drive a decent 997 it puts the Z4 into perspective. I'll be honest, if I could afford a gen 2 997 Carrera S, 4S or a turbo I would change tomorrow. As for them all looking the same, the 997 is streets ahead of the 996 for looks and I'm sure the new model will look the part once it's finalised.

There is no doubt about all 911's performance and handling. It is just about its styling (boring).

There aren't many Z4's, previous or current models, that look better than a well appointed 997 turbo IMO.

Me too, but my preference would be for a Gen 2 Carrera (non S). I don't know why, although 345bhp is plenty enough for me, and I like the simplicity. I'd order it without a rear wiper too, helps keep the lines cleaner.
