New 520d GT

Just collected my wife's new car- the love it or hate it Gran Turismo.
The kids and I were pushing for the more stylish jaguar xf 2 litre diesel, since fuel economy and ride quality were the critical requirements, but the rear space of the GT won the day (apparently its actually built on the 7 series floor pan).
We plan to drive it back home from Queensland across Australia to the south coast of Western Australia - a few km's!

Was the 320d or 520d estate not considered? Even more room in back. Easier to shift when your done with it as well.

Happy motoring with the GT.

Nice car, I'm on my third 5 series touring and I love it ( not as much as the zed obviously) but the GT is just that bit different.

 cool, must say that these look very grand/stately in the metal, a very cool family limousine :)

The interiors are fantastic. Much more passenger space than a touring which I guess is what makes the side profile look so odd (just look at the length of that back door)

How are the deals on them in Oz? Not long ago they were practically giving them away over here, i believe they haven't really been popular in the UK.

The 520d GT has only just been released over here. In fact it's rare to see any GT's at all. Car prices are seriously inflated in Australia made worse by heavy taxes. The list price for this was just on $100k drive away - I managed to get 10% off and a competitive interest rate. I try to avoid looking at the prices in the UK, it's too depressing!
