Out of interest what put you off the M135i or what did you miss most about the Z4?

The looks. It's like a girl with a great personality but a face you just couldn't wake up next to.

Have you thought about picking the car up from the factory? I wouldn't miss the chance to

A couple of dealers said i couldn't collect from the factory. I would love to do that.

The looks of the 1 series just couldn't grow on me. The M135i is an amazing car for the money, but just doesn't look or feel special. (to me anyway)

Lol funny you should say that, I took both for a test drive on the same day. This is part of the email I sent the sales guy to thank him for his help:

Part of my email to BMW sales after test driving both said:
.........The M135i is a fantastic car for the money, it's practical, has more toys/gadgets as standard, is super fast and I loved the auto with the paddles, that works really well. But!!! It looks like any other car on the road, by that I mean it's not head turning special! If I was a family man with a couple of kids then yes I'd be getting one, but as it's just me and the wife and thinking with my heart rather than my head, I can't help but be swayed over to the Z4 purely on looks. It's a beautiful looking car with the advantage of the drop top for when we get the nice weather (such as the drive back today),...........

I did start to think that I should go M135i for the practicality, but you saying what you have has sealed the deal so to speak...it's good to know someone who has had both and gone back...says it all really! ;)

Err well i hope not, the dealer told me last week if i ordered this week it would be sept, and today when i finished the order he said it would be sept
Ask your dealer for the VIN of your car - this was the question I asked that made them contact BMW directly to then find out my car wasn't going to be built in August after all !

Has anyone gone from big six to a four and not had regrets?

InvisibleName did http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=67661 and Twin Turbo came from a 335 to a 28i both seem to be enjoying the car

None,

only thing i miss is the sound that was / is so intoxicating - especially with an induction kit! :D

But dropping down from 335i to 28i None + I am saving £1500 a year before (Net) just in running costs

I'm actually considering the same move. M135i auto to e89 manual. Not decided whether a 28i or 35is used due to the cost. For the same reasons that it just doesn't seem special to me. I was also thinking of an e86 z4m coupe as its a lot cheaper but don't know if that's too much of a sacrifice.
