Well that was a wasted trip. Plugged the scanner in and it lit up like a Christmas tree. Vanos codes, cam bearing codes, lambada sensors, drivers window won't operate, brake warning light won't cancel out after brake change. Guy wouldn't budge to take into account the faults so the search goes on I'm afraid.

OMG ! What an arse ! :x So disappointing but never mind. Keep on searching...the right one is out there somewhere !

I know mate. Spoke to him loads too and he told me what a good example it was. Never mind, thank God for a twenty odd quid scanner from amazon eh haha

You should have stuck one on him for wasting your time and money.

Maybe he didn't know it had all those stored faults if he didn't have a scanner? Was the dash lit up like a xmas tree?

he told me the engine warning light was on due to the O2 sensors which didn't really worry me. He never mentioned the window and when I tried the roof only one window dropped, it also didn't slot up or down when the door was opened. He looked surprised when all the codes came up on the scanner but without a discount I wouldn't take the chance

She looks like my girlfriend! My Helena isn't double dating is she? :P
I like black with red interior mate..... You sure you're doing the right thing? Each to their own and all that of course
Please tell me about these Amazon scanners..... ?

I've got one of these. Reads the code then just search it on Web. Handy little tool

Always a very sensible move to put the scanner on a prospective purchase.
Got the asking price on mine down a lot after scanning and exposing various codes. took the plunge, decided to buy and fix 'er up.
Running very nicely now
good luck with the search....

What a disappointment

Sounds very annoying!

If would be really appreciated if you could share the link to that Z4, help avoid any other unsuspecting forum members dropping a clanger?

I am also on the lookout for the right vehicle I'd certainly value the info. :)
