Speak for yourself! I am not a 'spot' of any colour and haven't had an accident (the word accident makes me laugh TBH) in days! :D
Pride comes before a fall. :yu:

West Oxfordshire council done exactly the same round by me. I can understand around schools and built up areas, but some roads simply aren’t and you can feel your life ebbing away as you pootle along, being undertaken by cyclists and idiots on e-scooters…

Be interesting to see the statistics on how much ‘safer’ the roads are since they were implemented…

There’s really no need for them, there’s enough potholes in the roads to make going anywhere above 20mph a suicide mission anyway! WODC could have saved themselves £30m.

If speed cameras were about safety and were meant to reduce speed, they would be where we could all see them painted luminous pink with flashing neon signs telling us that there was a camera 100yards ahead.

We all know they tend to be hidden behind a well placed tree or just around a bend so you don't see them till it's too late. They don't even have to be sited at accident black spots. They should be but they don't have to be.

The 20mph up the road from us also has speed humps and posts. The posts keep being knocked over :headbang:

Do you think the speed limit should be reduced to 10 MPH to allow people to try and pass the posts without hitting them? Drivers eh!

You forgot the joggers

Look on the bright side. If you have a smart top module there's now more places you can use it on the move.

In the FAQ the question of cyclists is raised!!! Be prepared for the to overtaken by lycra clad idiots and e-bikes, I'm sure they will give the 1.5m clearance we are supposed to give them when we overtake.

Why are bicycles allowed to overtake me when I am driving at 20mph?
Speed limits in the Road Traffic Regulations and the Highway Code apply to motor vehicles only and not to bicycles. However, the Highway Code states that cyclists should be considerate of other road users.

I don't think many cyclists have read that! :(

All I can say is we're living in F :censored: ING CLOWN WORLD.......you couldn't make this S :censored: IT up.....Aaahhhhhh :slappy: Please for the love of Mary mother of God someone pinch me and tell me the last 3 years and continuing madness is all just a bad dream ..... :chairfight:

is it going to make that much difference? surely no one is actually going to do 20mph, unless there is a speed camera or they're directly in front of a police car... in which case, the police car will be wondering why the person in front is barely moving along the road, and getting overtaken by cyclists...

In Wales the council is going to ask residents if they want to be trained up as "community speed officers ". Let's face it , people will be lining up to have a uniform, lanyard and a badge to say they have some kind of enforcement powers.......just what the controller's love...getting the commoners to police themselves. :camera:

Driving around my village in the middle of nowhere a bunch of 20mph signs sprung up over night..... :headbang:

We have them around here, nothing better to do.

We are staying for a few days In a small village in rural Bedfordshire - the previous 30 limit has been ignored for years and the now 20 limit is also being ignored

Now they are to install cameras.

I estimate some are through the village at speeds 40+

As an outsider I can understand the justification in this instance!
