New 03 2.5! (update) picture heavy

Little bit of a roller coaster of a ride here guys. I've had a little bit of better news than not. :)
lets start off with the good.
I tackled my Headlights. They were not bad but they were not good either. I used the toothpaste trick and some 600 grit paper and then some headlight cleaner/sealant I had.

 They came out much better than I thought. Well worth the 70 minutes!!

I terminated the dealer decal from my boot. Used the misses hairdryer and some 40% rubbing alcohol. A little bit of elbow grease later and here is the result. And yes I will be getting a Stubby (we do have those in the states) as soon as the pocket allows.

Now let me get to the bad news I had a few days ago. I decide to take the misses out for a ride to nowhere and we are having a blast. This is really a sophisticated, classy and enjoyable car. We end up turning around somewhere and are heading home when I notice my Amber Check Engine Light is on. Oh Sh!!T is all I can think. We pull over in a shop lot and turn car off. I wait a few minutes start up and am really paying attention to all variables of this machine. RPM's, Throttle response, Engine noise, Shift patterns... etc. I'm only a mile from home so we chance it. The car was not running to bad until we got in my driveway. When I shut it off it sounded like Orca just breached and took a Huge Breath! :!: WTF?? I fire her back up and hit the throttle a wee bit and there is Orca again. :headbang: MMMMnnnnnn.... :headbang: We pop the hood and I look around and cant find anything immediately out of place....
Needless to say I stayed up all night reading this forum and was pointed in a direction related to a vacuum issue just past my Mass air flow box/sensor. I go out early morn and check the spot and Wow there was the problem! You guys rock! Let me show you what I am talking about.

Here it is after a Thorough Cleaning, Drying. I had no choice but to improvise a fix until I can source this part. I Had the misses hold er steady and I carefully applied electricians tape from top to bottom. It actually came out very well.

Put her all back together and started her up. My check engine light is still on but Man does she ride like the lightning now. :driving: :driving:
I have ordered A BMW Cable with the DVD software for my laptop already and plan to dive deeper into this when it arrives.
My current problem is, Does any one know the part number for this Rubber Elbow piece?? :poke:
I looked all over the piece and did not see one. Even though it seemed to fix the problem the problem is not fixed until I get the new part.

Sorry for such a long post but I was bored and I know you guys like Seeing and Reading! Hopefully you guys like Helping. :)

My next project is to upgrade my Sat/Nav to version 3.2 and then update my Maps DVD..
Cant wait to hear your replies!
