Never mind MPG, what about your total range?

Seen a few posts on here about MPG and the varying numbers that people seem to be getting. I don't tend to believe my MPG readout so much given that I nearly always get my fuel light at 260 miles after a full tank, regardless of what the computer is telling me.

So guys & girls, how many actual miles do you get from your tank (from full to fuel light coming on), and your engine size & transmission.

2.5i Auto - 260 miles

Well its going to depend purely on the type of driving you do and how you drive it. In general i'd say the book figures are pretty much spot on.

I did get 460 miles out of my 3.0i manual.

3.2 ///M - 260 miles

This will depend heavily on what type of driving you do. Mine is 200 miles of motorway and about 60 miles of urban, and it takes 45-50 litres to fill up. If I was driving around town day-in, day-out then I'd be lucky to get 200 before the light came on.

Did manage 300 miles the other week before the light came on and it was 320 before I chickened out and filled it back up (believing the light may be broken), but could only get 47 litres in (£64).

460? was that all downhill :o

Best ive managed so far is 370 (3.0 auto)

3.0si - consistany around 320-350 from a full tank (light on and ---- fill up)
On longer runs i have got out 400
Most i ever saw the reading say after fill up was 438 :? - but i never got that

Exactly the same for me.

I get the above when I fill up with V Power, less if I use 95 ron petrol

Not managed 300 yet. The car is still new to me though and im normally just having a short blast here and there.

Best one : 630. I've never been happier to reach the gas station...
Average : 520-540.

Ho, i'm talking kilometers, of course. :driving:

Around 400 easily on mixed work commute (half urban traffic, half 40-60 A-Roads), shows 500 range on motorway journeys with cruise control set at 75mph...

I can get 500kms (300miles) most of the time, easy does it on a highway and it goes up to near 600kms. I once filled my M3 at 602kms, all Interstate and behaving mind you.

I posted a picture a few weeks ago showing my fuel gauge at about half full with a range of 230 miles indicated, in reality I could do about 400 miles before the light goes on with 47 miles remaining, however if I don't fill at either end then I would have to pay the ridiculous motorway service prices halfway home (the last time I did that there was this guy with a mask holding a flint lock) :headbang: .

At the moment I am using an eye watering 60 litres a week and doing 500 odd miles :(

3.0si.
From a full tank my petrol light usually comes on when I've done about 180 miles  :driving:
Although if I travel to say, London, then I can get 400 miles out of it (cruising down the M1 at about 90, km of course ;) )

Best 250 miles, but usually around 200 as I get bored rather easily...

Worst 90 miles :driving:
