I am tempted to upgrade from the Sonos system I have. The Sonos is okay, but the sound lets it down for me.

So I am looking at the Cambridge CX Nor the Pioneer N50A.

The reviews are great for both, but does anyone have any experience of either? I have one eye on black Friday, so where are the best prices?

Went for the Cambridge CXN. It took a bit of time to get it to play - had to upload minimserver onto the NAS drive. The app is a bit clunky compared to the Sonos, but its a different beast when playing. My goodness it is, the music is detail, dynamic and clear.

No one else use a media player with the hifi?

I used to be right in to my hi fi tech - and suffered the consequences of leaping in such as my totally redundant Marantz DAT player and my Sony 200 disc CD player!

I am getting frustrated though with all the totally non integrated stuff I'm accumulating and having music scattered around over iPhone iPad CDs etc so may look at what you have bought - will have a look at your links

I used to have the Sony 200 disc CD player as well! What a great machine.

Well the Cambridge CXN plays from the iPhone etc so easily, reallly simple. But setting up the NAS was a bit trickier.

I would say come round for a listen, but we are at the other ends of the country from each other!

As lovely as those units are, I've not had the budget for such a high end player.

I've used an Airport Express to enable my Cambridge Audio amp to become Airplay compatible.
